"Shuttlecraft Archer requesting clearance for landing." Adam said. They had arrived att he Warp 5 complex perimeter as the shuttle slowed down to 50 kph awaiting clearance.
"Archer you are cleared for landing at pad 2. Proceed to follow standard landing procedures." The traffic controller communicated back.
David hadn't felt this excited since he got his model of the Phoenix ship for his birthday. "Dad, are we there yet?" He exclaimed as he was jumping up and down in his seat.
"Yes, son. We're landing down. Sit still or we just might have to turn around..." His father said as his hands were hovering over the control panel as if gesturing to turn the shuttle around. David sat still as if a halo formed above his head instantly.
The shuttle landed and David immediately jumped out of his seat and ran to the back. He mashed the control panel to open the door. If he had been any more hyper, he would've climbed out of the door before it opened up completely.
Adam had caught up with David as they walked into the museum. A hologram of Zefram Cochrane lit up at the front door welcoming the visitors. David couldn't help but recite the famous speech given by Zefram Cochrane over 200 years ago about exploring new worlds.
The museum was full of exhibits of all the early warp engines and starships. The Phoenix stood in the main atrium along with the NX-01 Enterprise was behind it as one of the first exhibits. A holographic projection of the NX-01 crew was shown in front of the ship.
Adam watched David run through the exhibits and realized something. "My son is going to be among the stars..." He said to himself.
