Stepping out of the Messhall after a very late lunch Maiell made her go to, Arrienye checked her chronometer out of habit as she made her way to the reception desk. Not looking to the receptionist, the Head of Security activated the Security console on it, checking through the day's outside visitation records.

Thomas stepped through the doors and moved to take a seat in the reception area. He was early for his appointment and knew better than to try to get in early.

Arrienye looked over at the young man as he entered. "You are?" she asked, unable to recognise him.

"Thomas Whitlock," he said, standing up and extending his hand as he walked over to her.

"Right," Arrienye nodded, taking his hand and giving it a small shake. "You're my next appointment," she said as a matter of fact. "Follow me," she said, leading him to her office. Once inside, she took her place behind her desk, crossing her legs and resting her hands on her lap. "What can I do for you, Mr. Whitlock?"

Thomas looked around the room before sitting down and smiling at her. "I just wanted to talk to you about some of the recent happenings between the Romulans and Cardassians on the base."

"Excuse me?" Arrienye asked, looking through her appointment PADD. Who the hell is this guy? she asked herself, cursing herself for letting the workday get to her. "And what do you do?" she asked, feeling a bit stupid, but it didn't show in her voice.

"I'm a reporter for the FNS," he said to her. "I do believe I mentioned that when I made they appointment."

"Oh, I didn't get that part," she said, looking through the PADD again. No, nothing. "Well, in that case, no, I don't want to speak with you. Thank you and have a good day," she simply told him, leaning back in her chair and picking up another PADD.

"Romulans shooting Cardassians, Romulan ships decloaking outside the Cardassian Embassy, Romulan officials trying to commit suicide, and you don't want to clear things up?" Thomas asked, making no move to leave.

"No," Arrienye shook her head, annoyed that he was still there. "Now leave, before I have you removed," she warned.

"What are you afraid of?" Thomas asked. "I'm trying to ease the tensions and show that there's nothing to fear from the Romulan presence on the base."

Arrienye didn't comment, simply pressed a button on her desk. After a moment, the doors opened and two guards appeared. "Remove him. He's refusing to leave on his own," she instructed them. The two large Gai'Shian officers moved over to him.

"I'll leave on my own," Thomas said as he looked at the guards. "I was just waiting for you to say please."

"Please make sure he leaves," she told the guards, who nodded, waiting for the human to stand up.

Thomas looked at her for a moment then stood up, ignoring the guards. "Thank you for your time," he said before turning to walk out of the office.
