Ensign David Straggard personal log, Stardate 63199.35.

I've gotten to meet some of the crew as I've been on board for a little over a week. I've made friends and looking forward to meeting more people aboard the station. However, I realized that I forgot something at home, my personal warp engine. I had been working on it for the past 8 years of which 3 of those actively making modifications and improvements. I'm thinking about building one here on the ship. I've talked to Commander Villiers about it and I would need a lot of resources and permission from multiple departments to both build and test the engine.

I plan to build an engine that can surpass a Class 9 Warp Engine. I am working "on paper" right now as to how I can possibly creating a maximum cruising speed of 9.999 with a maximum speed of approaching 9.99999999... as in repeating 9s. Without having to break the transwarp barrier (due to the biochemical effects traveling at warp 10) yet closing in on achieving safer, faster speed. This may seem difficult but I am closing in on the final schematics and equations on postulating such an engine. Call it the Class 10 warp engine... Ha! That would be the day.
