Arrienye shifted anxiously as she waited behind a corner, looking out into the Court office she knew t'Khellian was in. The tag she'd placed on Getal had a proximity alarm on it which went off whenever he'd get too close to the Ambassador and it had gone off less that 20 minutes ago. Arrienye rushed to get to the spot her tracker indicated but stopped short when she reached the door. Her brain had caught up to her instincts and she realised she couldn't just burst in on them. It would be suspicious for her to know what was going on while she was supposed to be on the other side of DS5. Either of them could figure out she somehow had a way to track their movements and that would just ruin her entire plan.

So she waited, as if on a pile of needles, gazing intently at the doors to the office. The two blips on her tracker were right next to one another and had held that location the entire time. Well, the blip indicating Getal had moved around but Arrienye could almost picture him walking around the office, selling some bullshit speech to t'Khellian, maybe threatening her. But he hadn't gotten close enough to actually be in physical contact. Arrienye's heart jumped when, finally, the doors swished open and Getal walked out. t'Merek moved behind the corner so as not to be seen. Waiting another few minutes, she rushed to the doors, opened them and went inside.

"Ambassador?"

Isha had had time to get to her feet and wipe her mouth but t'Merek's prompt arrival had given her no room to do anything about her smeared make-up.

She turned back to the looking glass in the small sanitary cubicle and without the benefit of a make up case erased the teary smudges before she stepped out and closed the door.

"What brings you here, t'Merek?" Isha asked aware of the acrid taint on her breath.

"What happened? I just saw Getal leave," Arrienye said more than asked, noticing t'Khellian's appearance but not commenting yet.

"Why are you here?" Isha asked as she walked past t'Merek and dropped into her chair. "This office is on Federation soil and they will not allow me to bring my own security. Unless you have business related to the upcoming trial you should not be here," she said resting one elbow on the desk and leaning forward, her own fingertips touching the cheek that the Cardassian had caressed.

Arrienye's stiffened, her form straightening as she looked down at t'Khellian. "I was walking by and saw Getal exit this office. I was..." Arrienye paused, picking another word other than 'concerned', however fitting it may be. "I wanted to make sure everything was alright and that you were safe," she explained, resting her hands behind her back.

Isha leaned back in her chair and as she did so, folded her arms around her body. Isha's gaze wandered along the edge of the desk closest to her and back again. "Please don't interfere," she said without raising her eyes to meet t'Merek's.

"Interfere? I have a job to protect you, Ambassador. And I just saw the man who..." Arrienye stopped, cursing herself for letting her feelings take over. "I just saw Getal pay you a visit. What. Happened."

"He brought evidence that will be useful to the Empire's case against Gabriel," Isha told t'Merek. "He did not do anything," she said aware of the palpable pull of emotional strain on her voice. "I was trained not to show fear to an enemy, to an audience, but to hold it," Isha continued, "I did that," she added as her eyes briefly met t'Merek's. "He means to do me harm," she said as the burning fluid bubbled up in her stomach, "but not yet."

"Well I can't just sit around in my office, knowing that that thing can walk in and out of here whenever he pleases."

"Then it will not comfort you to learn that the evidence put to me by Getal will constitute secondary charges that I will bring on behalf of the Cardassian Union." Isha paused. The entire surface of her skin was quite cold, cold enough for moisture to condense on the surface. She drew a breath before she continued, "With Getal's consent, that is. He also is now a witness and I cannot ban him from these offices," Isha admitted.

"No, that doesn't comfort me," Arrienye admitted, reaching up pinch the bridge of her nose as a headache began to form. "I'll figure something out. Some way to secure this office in whatever way I can without breaking Federation rules about all this," she said, more to herself than to t'Khellian.

"Its hardly a comfort to me," Isha said, a note of duranium in her tone.

Isha could not believe that it was coincidence that had brought t'Merek here, but how had she arrived so quickly? Almost soon enough to catch Getal in the same room as herself? The Ambassador put that aside for now. "anything that you can do would be welcome, anything that our hosts cannot detect, I mean."

Arrienye thought for a moment, then looked at t'Khellian. "How about a panic button? A small device you could activate if ever things got out of hand?" Arrienye suggested.

Isha's hands dropped into her lap. She knew she could not stop him if he decided again that he needed to subdue her. She twisted one of her rings on her finger as she considered the proposal; Darson's ring, itself a panic button of sorts, but Darson's aid had a terrible cost to Isha.

"I approve of the idea, t'Merek," Isha said eventually, "How long before you can have it ready?"

"An hour if I leave now," Arrienye said confidently.

"Thank you. When you return to the embassy would you please send my girl. I have another appointment in twenty minutes and I cannot appear this way," she requested.

"Yes, Ambassador. Good day," she nodded to t'Khellian respectfully before turning on her heel and leaving the office, on her way to the Embassy.

But beofre that Isha wanted to trace the men on the padd, if any of them could be found .... still, she had resources that were not available to most, and the act of co-operating with the Federation, well, that would probably pay-off too.
