Kaia set her bowl of spiced noodles down on a console as she settled into the captains chair of her raven class vessel. To an extent, it was going to take some effort to adjust to "real life" again. Ever since the marine campaign against the pirate base, Kaia had been at a casino-spa on Risa, laundering the gold-pressed latinum she and Natrina had liberated from the collapsed tunnel within the asteroid base. It was a dirty, exhausting, tiresome job, but somebody had to do it. That latinum wasn't going to launder itself, and it was probably best to let things cool down on the station before she made an appearance.

She'd received a transmission from Natrina, who had returned to the station to deal with getting her bar reopened. Apparently Natrina had picked up (or was in the process of picking up, Kaia wasn't quite certain) some blueprints for a new ship design and was eager for her share of the latinum in order to get started.

Kaia had somehow found the strength to pull herself away from the masseuses, mud baths, and dabo tables and was finally geared up to head back to the station. The exerience had been a first for her. Risa was certainly the polar opposite of the prison moons and agony booths in which she had spent time back home. So many people not only willing, but EAGER to help her relax, and the weirdest part was THEY WEREN'T EVEN SLAVES. A lot of people wouldn't even accept payment for services, being in the federation and all; this of course was an unusual complication when trying to launder money.

Kaia had contemplated heading to Ferenginar to launder the Lat, but with the appointing of the "progressive" Negus Rom a few years back, the Ferengi alliance was still trying to sort itself out politically and economically. There was still too great an ideology of taking the thickest cut they could from visitors for Kaia's taste, so Risa it was.

So, after several weeks of constant hedged gambling, fruity drinks, real food and daily massages, all the Latinum had been laundered. Kaia sighed as she punched in a course for DS5 and let the autopilot do the rest.
