"We're up!" Klia appeared in front of Yolanthe, cheerful grin on her face.

Yolanthe looked up from the Suliban Slings she was mixing. "Sorry, what?"

"The holodeck." the little orion woman explained. "All vole damage repaired and the Matrix has held steady for 12 hours. You can have it for use again. What would you like? Two separate bars, the full theatre, revue bar, mosh pit?"

"The regular Number Two bar will be just fine." Yolanthe did a quick head count around the bar. "I'll get Pel and a couple of waiters to help you move in stock." She frowned.

Klia saw the look. "What's up?"

"There's something not right about the bar tonight. I can't put my finger on it." Yolanthe looked over the bar again. It was reasonably full for the time of night. Everyone seemed happy, the gaming tables were lively, no one seemed on the verge of starting a fight. But something wasn't right at all.

Klia looked around as well, trying to see what her friend was talking about. Patrons of a dozen species sat at tables or at the bar. Humans, Trill, Vulcan, Andorian, Cardassians, even Klingons. but not... "Lani? Where are all the Romulans?"

"What?" Yolanthe looked around, observing the race of her customers. Klia was right. There were many different races, but not a single Romulan. The Bokkai straightened up, realising what had happened. "Vicious Bitch!"

"Huh?" The little Orion was startled by her friend's outburst and almost instant transformation from placid violent to fire-hot yellow.

"t'Merek." Yolanthe spat. "I barred her last night. I bet the cow has ordered consulate staff to avoid us like the plague."

"Why the hell did you bar her?" Klia was surprised. "I thought we liked the Romulans? The pretty one saved our necks opening night and the real ambassador has just given us a lot of latinum."

"She's been harassing my boys. I had to step in with Pel last night." Not to mention how she'd reacted to the Cardassian ambassador a few night before. But she knew Klia would consider that a plus.

"Funny. I took her for Ice queen, not rabid."

"Either way, there's a lot of Romulans on the station right now, and I'm not getting any of their business. Bitch!" she hissed again.

"So what do we do about it?" Klia asked

Yolanthe pinched the bridge of her nose. "I'm not sure." She had precious few options to hand. "Okay, for now, lets cut the price of anything Romulan by half, and see if we can tempt a few to disobey the cow. And if we cross paths in the next few days, I'm going to have words with the Arrain." And, she thought, I'd really like some of hers to be 'please don't hit me any more'.
