ON: Chelsea had worked hard, as had Lance, on repairing the half-dead Cardassian Ambassador after the bombing that almost took his life. It seemed as if he had become institutionalised or at least part of the furniture, he had been in Sickbay for so long but at last, to everyone's mutual relief, he was finally fit to leave. The CMO came to discharge him. Her relief to see the back of the grump was evident and she knew he would feel the same relief at being finally able to get back to his own Embassy and people.

"Good Afternoon, Ambassador" Chelsea said, picking up the PADD at the end of the Cardassian's bed. My nurse tells me she's completed all your final checks and scans and I have looked them over on the monitor. It is my professional opinion that you are fit and well and free to leave Sickbay. This is your discharge record." she held out a data rod with his medical file on it.

Tharek quickly skimmed the PADD. "Regardless of our previous altercations, I thank you for what you've done. But this act does not warrant leniency in later events." He stood, and straightened his armour. Oh, how he had missed the matt-black cage that contained him. "And I'm sure you feel as I feel when I say that I hope to not return here anytime soon."

Chelsea's soft Bajoran ridges creased slightly. "You're welcome!" she said with irony, incredulous that he could pay such shallow lip-service to a pretence of gratitude and still manage to include a threat with it at the same time. ~More fool me for saving his worthless hide!~ she thought, glad she could hold her head up and know she had risen above his level by helping him despite his nasty nature.

"I do indeed feel as you do in that I hope you have no further need to return here." she smiled back, keeping the comment ambiguous enough to have perhaps meant that she hoped he would remain too well to need to.

Tharek made a subtle grunt and bowed his head head. "Now excuse me, I have an embassy to reclaim." He didn't even let his final word fall from his mouth before he was pacing forward toward the door.

Chelsea rolled her eyes un-noticed and went back to her work. ~Some people were just born ornery!~ she thought.
