Yolanthe watched Murdoch working on Getal. Pressure in the brain had to be relieved, she knew that much about hematoma. The operating room beyond the window seemed a silent tense place. The pressure of a massive diplomatic incident should they lose him wouldn't help.

She ground her teeth. Someone had blown the consulate up. She knew it. too much anti-alien feeling had been floating round the last few weeks. Someone had tried to kill tharek. She glowerd at the operating theatre, her skin slowly turning pale amber as her anger took hold. Whoever it was, she wanted them dead. slowly.

And if he lived? Wouldn't whoever had set the explosion try again. Who would look after him, when he was defenceless? she couldn't trust the cardassians. They hadn't been paying attention earlier when someone somehow got past their guards and screens. had they? Someone would try again, and they might succeed.

She'd lost so much. Her home and dreams, her status and and pride. She'd lost Reshi. Draylin Tal had showed his true colours when he'd killed Klia. Tyler Short would see her bankrupt and she'd lose The Box. and then Oded Vehr would turn up and take whatever was left. She wasn't going to let Tharek slip away. And wasn't going to let him go to some hate crazed opportunist or anti-alien conspiracy.

If you want something done right....

She didn't have long, she had to be back before Tharek was out of surgery. She left sickbay as fast as she could, and headed straight to the Box of Delight. Pelin saw her enter, "Hey Boss, what happened?"

she walked straight past, not answering, and headed straight to her office, and to her desk. But it was not the desk or anything on it that was important. she shoved it back so she could get a good look at her trophy wall. Not a lot to chose from, few people brought weapons to the bars she ran. enough for an interesting display, but hardly an arsenal. She ignored the disruptor pistol. ranged weapons were not her forte. She too a simple k-bar knife, a straightforward and simple killing weapon. But it lacked the personal touch that she wanted for...after she used the k-bar. Something that was more about pain and punishment. So little to choose from.

But there was one. Curved like a cats claw, finger holes in the grip, sharp enough to split atoms. It was perfect. she wrapped pink fingers round it, savouring the coolness of the metal grip. It would do very nicely. Very nicely indeed.

By the time she got back to Sick Bay, they were moving Getal to recovery. Once his biobed had been manovered into place, she stabbed the k-bar into the bio arch frame, ready to have to hand.

"Don't worry, my sweet, I'm here." the bokkai brushed hair from tharek's face, relieved he was alive and breathing. She settled into a chair next to him, stroking her finger along the curve of the claw blade. This was her terriotory, and she would make anyone who tried to take it regret ever having been born.
