Davies gave a nod and was about to respond when Darson made an eerie noise………………

ON:
Darson let out a low growl that would have sounded more appropriate coming from a large animal, “That’s exactly what I was afraid of,” He turned to Davis, “Sir, as I pointed out in your office, Of the three general targets for terrorists, only one so far has been affected that we know of, the guardian platforms. Unfortunately, that means that sabotage against defensive and infrastructure systems are highly likely. I will assign my engineering teams to conduct a thorough, top-down inspection of all vital system components, prioritizing shields, weapons, and life support. However, to get through even the first 500 decks would take several hours. If they could coordinate with engineering squads and Strategic Ops, they can cover more ground.”
"That is already being taken care of, but with Lieutenant Freeman in sickbay with a head injury, engineering is already working on the guardian platforms, though assistance will undoubtedly be appreciated. Warrant officer, what is the current status?" He asked the young man stood watching the proceedings.
Warrant Officer Hiroshi spoke up filling in for the missing Chief. "The stations Engineering is spread thin as it is now. The chief has been working us hard to get the shuttle bay fixed and we just barely finished that. After receiving word that the guardians went down. I have the whole crew split trying to get the guardians back up and running."
Davies nodded. "Good job, we need them as our ace in the hole. If the Romulans think that the platforms are down, they won't be paying attention until its too late!" His lips broke into a thin smile.
"Lieutenant Peters, I want a full report on the ships power status and an instant report on any anomalies. Shields and life support are a priority." David turned to Ayren. "Miss Kelan, I thank you for your help earlier, but I need you to work again with the Ambassador, we need to know what the current status of the civilians are and if we need to assist. Medical, we don't know what will happen, so consider yourselves on duty until the immediate threat is passed."
Ryan and Chelsea both nodded sharply once in acknowledgement.
Ayren also nodded. "I will do whatever is required," she said.
"Commander," Aieron timidly spoke up "Ship's power status? Do we have any ships about to dock that I should be aware of?"
Davies shook his head. “All ships are denied both access and exit protocols.” He stated, witing on other questions.
"We have emergency protocols for engaging both Main and Emergency Sickbays and having them running at full synchronized capacity. All off-duty staff have been activated and CPO McBain is assigning them to the two medical facilities as we speak. We will each take one Infirmary and casualties will be directed to spare beds and free medics using the standard Franklin Guidelines. In short, we're good to go." Ryan Milarno reported.
Chelsea fed in appropriate entries on her PADD and transmitted them to Main Sickbay with instructions as agreed. McBain sent back an acknowledgement and, having readied the Main Sickbay, took himself down to check that the Auxiliary was staffed and set-up too.
Isha rolled a small blue shell between her fingers as she listened though her eyes did not leave the sky, she was in as much danger as any of them, not that that seemed to matter right now. "Commander Davies," Isha said, "My embassy staff and their dependants are confined to the consulate or else their quarters; Whilst it may in theory be safer for them to shelter with the rest of the civilian population I would be loath to expose them to a crowd which may decide to exact a little summary justice on the first Romulan they see. Therefore the wider Romulan population of the station have been advised to remain in their quarters.”
David was not sure of whom to assign the task of rounding up the Romulans. He could see that Claire did not seem to be fully with them. "Agreed. Miss Mackenzie, can I entrust securing the Romulan populous to you?" He enquired.
"Of course commander. I'll help them out." Claire responded, she was on autopilot.
“As it is, I am the highest representative of the Rihannsu Stelam Shiar on this facility. My word is as if it were spoken by the Praetor himself. In simple terms, anyone who chooses to ignore my advice brands himself a traitor. From the moment this station is locked down if you see a Rihanna in the corridors, shoot him and ask him what he was doing there after he hits the ground. Do you understand that or do I have to simplify my position even further?”
Impending danger be damned, Jo'el couldn't keep his admiration for Isha in check. He smiled glowingly as he checked the exits again. He indicated the "all clear" to the ambassador and continued trying to keep his laughter in check.
Isha smirked, catching Opaka's gesture reflected in the window, but she did not turn.
Darson leaned forward and put his elbows on the table, “Oh, I think we understand just fine, my dear Ms. t’khellian. And you’re right of course. After the Romulans attack, people are going to be in a panicked state. And people in panicked states often do very, very stupid things. I’m going to deploy a squad of MP’s with Riot Control gear to the Embassy…as long as you stay inside with your personnel, it should be safe.”
"How thoughtful of you, Major," Isha replied. Anyone trying to attribute an emotional state to her tone would have had to opt for neutral, which was rather far from the truth. "I don’t have any plans to go anywhere, but do make sure they know who they're meant to be firing at should things get out of control. I find the experience of being shot rather disagreeable, don't you?"
Jo'el nodded his agreement, though he knew Isha wasn't addressing him, per se. ~Great, MP's. Just what I need, a bunch of hotheads in helmets and pads telling me how to do my job. I would have sworn Capt. Tahir said they wouldn't get in my way if I stayed out of theirs.~
Darson chuckled lightly as he leaned back in his chair, “Being shot…I’ve experienced it so many times that I think I’ve grown accustomed to it. As a matter of fact, during my campaign In the Hadrian star system against the Dominion, I received no less than 16 Purple Hearts…that’s how I earned one of my many legendary reputations, as the Undead General of Hadrian III. Commander Monteros, I believe you were present in some capacity during that period…surely you remember?”
"Remember, Hell? Me and my squadron are a large part of the reason you're here today to tell that story, Major." Rianni laughed, she had flown air support for his ground troops when she was with VMF-276, "Ground power is nothing without air supremacy."
"How delightful that what for most soldiers is merely an occupational hazard is a veritable pleasure for you," Isha remarked dryly.
"As a Starfleet officer of Romulan heritage I request my quarters be under guard as well, Major Darson." Rianni requested, "If for no other reason than to keep Gabriel and his men out of my underwear drawer."
Gabriel chuckled, "You silly little fool, if we wanted a pair of Monteros underwear, we'd simply go get a pair from your mother." He said, referring to the luggage that was confiscated from Rianni's mother during her previous visit to the station.
"Yeah, must've broken your heart when she told you she liked men." Rianni replied, laughing dismissively at Gabriel, "But, if she's ever in the mood for her first lesbian experience I'll give her your number."
Darson looked between them, “You know,” he said in what might amount to an irritated tone coming from him, “I don’t think that Gabriel is that far gone to sift through a superior officer’s underwear drawer. A subordinate, yes. A superior, definitively…not…” he trailed off as he cocked his head to the side and stared intently at Rianni, almost as if he could see right through her clothes…which, considering the number of filters available in his helmet, wouldn’t be a far off possibility.
After a moment of tense silence he shook his head and said, “Wow…I lost my train of thought there for a moment. I’ll place a guard on your quarters immediately.”
David scanned the room, looking for the quartermaster. "Has anybody seen Officer Petro?" He asked loudly.
"Not seen her all day, Sir" Aieron said. Probably didn't help that he'd spent most of the day running around the place chasing after lazy idiots, but never mind.
"Right here, sir." Petro said, leaning forward so the Commander could see her. "I came in during the, um, what is the human phrase? Oh, yes. The Pissing Match." She said.
Aieron winced. Err.. yes. Yet another case of not seeing what was right there in front of him.
David responded with a heavy sigh. "My apologies." He shook his head glancing down at his hands upon the desk. "Petro, as quartermaster, I need you to ensure that the platforms are fully stocked as well as keeping a tally on every missile launched. I want a full report sent back to Starfleet as soon as this over and will need everything restocked ASAP. OK people, you have your orders. Any questions?" He asked, standing up from his seat.
Da`nal stood as well, as did others, shaking his head no as he replied, "No sir". He had a station to man, and a battle to coordinate.
"Understood sir." Petro said. She had several people that were already accustomed to dealing with the platforms and the armaments. "Every last missile will be accounted for." It was sad to say, but after the last attack, she seemed to be all too familiar with this kind of situation. She only hoped that by days end she wasn't in a coma again.
"People, we have a job to do. Differences aside when you leave this room. We need unity and a controlled front." He glanced around each and every face.
"Tactical displays are to be on at all times. Lets move people." David said as he stood up straight.
Da`nal nodded sharply acknowledging the instruction and turned to head out into the operations area.
The CMO and his assistant had no more to add to the discussion and were waiting dismissal so they could get to work on the Medical preparations for whatever was to come.
"Commander T'Lan. Anything you wish to say?" Davies asked, looking at the stations first officer.
There being nothing additional, it was time to get to work.
