Database: The Shri'vara
Shri 'vara, literally translates into living dead. These 'troopers' are convicted criminals which have been sentanced to death. But, instead of Cardassia having them die, she wishes for them to serve a purpose.

The criminals are to serve their time as frontline troops. They are first into battle, and the last ones out. Since Cardassia suffered extreme losses during the Dominion War, they have needed every ship, soldier and bit of soil they can find. So, instead of having the most hardened and deadly criminals die, the Cardassian Central Command handed these men out to ships in the fleet. The Rakara is the first ship to recieve the compliment of 20 of some of Cardassia's most hardened and agressive criminals.
