Cascade – Emotions? Illogical! Part 2

"Somebody should probably go after her." He added. "Somebody who... well you know... cares."
New:
Tasha had barely gone five metres down the corridor before the hand slapped at her shoulder forcing her around.
Her hands came to her mouth and covered it as if silencing a scream. She had expected Chelsea or Lance but not a reflection of herself
"Why did you say those nasty, hateful things?" Her eyes searched her own.
"I didn't, you did. You have kept things buried for too long and you needed to say them." She said in reply.
Tasha shook her head. "No I didn't, not in public like that. If had things to say, I would say them privately and with a great deal more tact, IF I had to say it."
Tasha grinned. "You wanted to say it, but you have restrained yourself. I let you say it to release yourself from the burden you hold." She responded.
Again Tasha shook her head as her hands fell from her mouth. "I never wanted to say anything like that."
Tasha nodded, "Yes you did. You are jealous of Doctor Adams and her relationships. You are jealous because you have no one to share your burdens or your bed."
It was Tasha's turn for her jaw to drop as she closed her eyes and slowly moved her head from side to side.
"I know me better than that. I am not, nor have I ever been jealous. I don't know who you are, but you don't know me very well. If you were me, I would be looking a little closer to home. I have friends who share the burdens I chose to offload and as for someone sharing my bed, I still have the love of my husband, maybe not physically, but mentally." She stated with a smile.
The grin widened on Tasha's face. "Yes indeed, mentally. You have become fixated on something that does not exist."
Tasha watched with open mouth as the figure of herself began to morph, slowly but definably into a man, a man of familiar height and frame, facial features becoming apparent to her, ones that she had caressed intimately so many times, but not nearly enough.
The captains hands came again to her mouth, but this time, she failed to stifle the scream that erupted from her as her dead husband began to reach for her.
She hit the deck floor, Roman reaching for her as she fell into oblivion.

"You're right, Dr Murdoch." Chelsea struggled to contain her emotions as she looked around the familiar faces of her department senior officers. "Someone *should* go after her. She's clearly lost her grasp on reality. Her description was wrong. It wasn't something Tasha would say, not even if she were given to believe there were problems..... that bit about Rick and Ryan.. that was NOT the Tasha I know and love talking.... ".
The CMO tried to reason out what had just happened and moved to leave the office. "If she really has taken leave of her senses, we need the XO here and I need to make a proper diagnosis." she said, flicking her comm badge and attempting to find Karen Villiers.
=^= Computer, locate Commander Villiers =^= she instructed beginning to look and feel calmer as she took some action.
"Commander Villiers is in the Engineering Support Lab, Deck 1126," the familiar voice replied.

It was Madelyn who was en route to the medical bay to pick up some reports, when she saw Tasha in the corridors, acting strange and talking to herself all the time. She carefully approached the Captain from a safe distance. "C...Captain?" Madelyn asked, with a small voice, not sure how to respond to her. "Are you... alright? It seems you have been talking to yourself all the time." Madelyn didn't know how or what, but something made her feel uncomfortable as she approached Tasha.
From the other direction down the corridor, Chelsea was following Tasha, equally concerned at what she had just witnessed within Sickbay but a little late to have seen much of what was happening to her in the corridor.
When the final part of Tasha's hallucination played out and she began to lose consciousness, she began to fall to the deck. Chelsea, seeing this, lunged forward the last few yards and managed to get her outstretched arm beneath Tasha's head as she fell. The two of them fell, Tasha limp and unconscious and Chelsea tangled beneath and around her thinking too late that this had been a bad idea for a pregnant woman to indulge in but it had been too instinctive to stop in the split seconds that it took.
As the three of them untangled themselves, the two who were only bruised helped up the fainted Captain and Chelsea revived her gently. The CMO made sure her Captain was unhurt and unharmed, insisting on several tests until she was satisfied that nothing permanent remained to prevent her getting up and starting back on her way towards Engineering.
However the clean bill of health didn't prevent Chelsea accompanying her friend and boss to try and solve some of the unanswered questions that were hanging in the air over them all and the station.
