ON:

Commander T'Lan decided to give her decision to Commander Davies. Though it was difficult for her to accept. She approached the Ready Room and pushed the doorchime.

"Enter Davies called, settling back in his chair.

T'Lan entered. "Greetings Commander. I have come to inform you of a recent decision I have made."

David swallowed. "Commander, I know we got off on the wrong foot, so to speak, but I really must apologise for yesterday, for kissing you. I misread you and I should not..."

T'lan silenced him with just a look.

"Sorry, carry on." He said as he dropped his hands into his lap, cupped and sweating.

"I have been offered a command, and I have accepted. I am going to be taking command of the USS Dreadnought." T'Lan stated.

Davies' jaw dropped. He knew she was not comfortable on the station and he blamed himself. Standing he offered his hand in congratulation, but he could not help but think of the details on Karen Villiers PADD earlier that morning. Until now, he thought it was just a cruel misinterpretation.

"Well done, you will make a superb Captain." He replied nodding. "The Dreadnought will be getting a fine Commander. When do you intend to leave?" The question rushed out as he knew Tahir would want a replacement XO as soon as possible and for that matter, he knew that Starfleet had already assigned one, a JAG officer at that.

T'Lan spoke, "It will be another week until the Dreadnought arrives.

The news really came as a shock, but at least he could would be able to announce the new Exec before the day was through, of course, the final say would be up to the Captain on her return . "A week," He smiled, "too short a time."

T'Lan spoke. "I have one more item of business. Commander, I cannot condone Mr. Gabriel's actions. He has shown that he is willing to undermine the personal liberties of those on this base. He has shown that he has no respect for the Federation's laws or the statues that govern the rights within the Articles of the Federation. He recently tried to detain the survivor from the ship we rescued, and I had to intervene."

David nodded. "I heard a whisper. I hope to have a chat later, maybe recommend some classes to bring him back up to speed, but on the other hand, he is a damn good officer who gets results." He didn't add that he actually liked the way that Dorian was taking control of the Security department, considering he had berated the previous CSO for her style of security.

T'Lan sighed and then spoke. "Also, I have another thing I wish to ask you. Customarily it is appropriate for those in your culture to begin relationships with a ceremony called.. a date... I wish to undertake this ceremony."

His mouth dropped agape and closed as his brow furrowed. "Seriously?" He questioned as his eyes widened. "A date? With me?" He heard her, but after yesterday it was not what he was expecting.

T'Lan raised her eyebrow, "You do not wish to?"

Davies shook his head and then altered it to a nod. "I would love to!" He spluttered as a reply, "A drink, a dance, dinner, all of them?" He paused as his hands fell forward and he actually found himself at a loss for words.

T'Lan nodded, "Very well, would twenty-one hundred hours suffice?"

"It's a date!" David replied with a slight blush on his face.
