Jarred made his way to his office, the excitement of the day had begun to fade and he was looking forward to some holodeck time before calling it a day, as he set a pair of PaDDs' down on his desk he noticed the message indicator on his desk top computer was blinking, mostly out of habit he opened the message and began to read.

~Well isn't this just a fun one!~ Jarred thought to him self. He looked down at his desk then up again, he'd normally just grab his bag and walk, but for some reason this time he had some sense that this wouldn't be like the time before, he just had to play it safe unlike in the past where he just simply went in with out hesitation.

He remembered that the Denver was still in dock, but if they were supposed to be leaving on search and rescue they may be ready to depart, so as he readied his equipment he looked quickly at the docking manifest, and sure enough the Denver hadn't left yet so he still had time to get his gear and report in before they left.

He took one last look around as he lifted his bag, this time he knew there was a chance he wasn't coming back, and if he did would things go back too being the same. He turned off the light for what he hoped wasn't the last time and left.

In the turbo lift he stood there the low hum was his only company, when his stepped off to make the short walk over too the docking umbilical he saw a red haired NCO stop and salute, "This way sir the Captain is expecting you."

Jarred just followed he turned back for some reason, he wasn't sure why but there was this sudden sense of doom looming around as he walked off the station, this wasn't like other missions where he knew he was going to make it out alive, this had a sense that he wasn't coming back this time.

"Mr Wallace, This way sir Captain Morrison is waiting." The young man called out.

Jarred just turned and started to walk away, he wanted it this way. No tears, not even a long goodbye, just quick and quiet the way things had always been.
