Wayne left the meeting with the current station Commander. He was not entirely happy with the way things had turned out, but he did not have and real reason to be upset with the commander after all he did have a job to do just like everyone else.

No his current train of thought delt not with the situation on the station but with something he had been playing with for a while. He knew that there were several hulks that were sitting around waiting to be used for live fire tests. He had a hunch that if he could get ahold of one of his old friends he might be able to get a couple of them under the table. He pulled up a listing of the ships that were slated for the firing range and took notice that there was an almost perfect set. There were two excelisor and an ambassador class starship that were slated to go down in the next few weeks.

He pulled up the information on all three of the ships and started looking over the Engineers decomission reports. The three ships appeared to have solid hulls and their keels did not show any of the usual signs of that age of ship. However there was a note attached that explained that the ships were being decommissioned simply because they were not needed at the moment. They had been held in reserve for almost 30 years before being slated for the firing range.

Wayne thought for a few moments as he walked back into his office and brought up a subspace connection to the admiral in charge of the training range. There was no need for this to be a face to face meeting so he simply composed a message and sent it out.

Admiral Chesterfield

my friend. First i would like to say congradulations on your promotion and I hope you enjoy your new duties. I am sure it will be nothing like what we used to do all those years ago when we were a couple of young hellraisers all set to go of and fight the good fight against whoever would dare threaten the federation.

I am contacting you in regards to three ships that are slated to go to the firing range in the next week or so. The ships are two Excelsior class and one Ambassador class starship. I know that there is a need for testing agaisnt actual targets but well you know me I hate to see a good hull go to waste. I am of course willing to buy the hulls from starfleet for a reasonable price. I am looking forward to your reply with regards to this proposal and working with you in the future.

Sincerly
Your old friend
Wayne Bradshaw

"Computer make sure that this message goes out ASAP and notify me when the admiral recieves it." Said Wayne as he shut his terminal down and leaned back rubbing his temples. He had maybe just found a way to save the company a slug of money and give them more onsite support then ever before.
