Okay, all main systems are back online, puncture in the hull is fixed, and that squeeky sound in the captain's chair is gone. At this point we get to do the fun work...

The transwarp coil we stole... I mean salvaged from the USS Legacy is in a LOT of pieces... Luckily we still have the records from the Legacy's configuration when we took it apart, so, in theory, I can put it back together in roughly the same order... roughly...

I'll have to sacrifice one of the passenger quarters on deck 4 near engineering in order to run the transwarp coil in parallel with the normal reactor. That'll make it easier to switch between the transwarp coil and the normal engines without being immediately obvious we're running a non-standard configuration upon physical inspection.

Actually, there's probably an even better idea than that. If I remove that entry way panel from the corridor all together and simply remove the whole door, I could insulate the whole room against scans. I could wire the cloaking device up in that room as well. Granted, I'd need to put an alternate route to get into that room other than transporters or jefferies tubes. Hmmm... what else is in that section?

Well, I could create a hatch from astrometrics, but it might be safer to access it from a different deck. Hmm, think of two contingencies, first contingency, I'm on the bridge and need to get there as quickly as possible. Second contingency, I'm in engineering and need to get there as quickly as possible...

That's IT, instead I just move it to the passenger quarters on deck 3, build a hatch up to it through the auxiliary access off of main engineering, and build a hatch down to it from the science lab on deck 2. It'll take a bit more extensive wiring to tie it into the reactor, but it'll be easier to access in case of emergency.

Hmm, I'll want to get the room set up before I actually start assembling things, but it'll be a hell of a lot easier to move the components of the transwarp coil and cloaking device in there while the room still has a door. While I'm at it, I suppose I could start the initial modifications to the room below it into a holodeck. I've always wanted to change one of the passenger quarters into a holodeck. It'll make the long trips a bit easier, not that we'll have many long trips now with a functional transwarp coil, but we'll still only be able to use it in unpopulated areas.

You know, all these bits and baubles are great. I mean, I'm not complaining, common, I'm installing a frikkin transwarp coil and a cloaking device in my damn ship. Still, I think it'll be nice if the next caper I pull gets rewarded with some sort of cash prize...
