Martina got back to her quarters; well what could be called her quarters. She had two duffle bags, on the floor next too the table, she hadn't really had a chance to even settle in. Her training officer was off on some mission, the station chief was treating her like an Orion slave girl, and the old master chief had really been a mentor to her. She was waiting for Ensign Wallace; she'd heard a few wild stories so she hoped he wasn't all that she'd heard about.
Barely two days on the job had she done more than she figured she would in two months. Martina changed into more comfortable cloths, she was tired and scared. it had been a difficult journey to this assignment, she'd been able to make her way through the academy with some degree of effort, she thought that she'd get one final break before things to serious, guess not.
Martina went up to the promenade; she'd wanted to explore that part of the station since she got here. The carnage from the battle was still in some parts of the deck, but life appeared to be returning to normal, or something that could be called normal life. She walked over to a small booth and ordered a beverage, the strange citrus fruit beverage. She’d been through parts of the promenade, she saw an old style cafe nearby and went over, as she sat and ate a slice of cherry pie she saw another damage control team heading off to repair something.
As she wandered back to her quarters she reflected on her first day, she hoped that Ensign Wallace was going to be different that working with Lt. Gabriel. The Chief was an ok guy but nothing more that a good source of information. She wasn't too sure what too make of Ensign Moxis, she was tired and decided to call it a day, who knows what tomorrow was going to be like.
