Next is a short range burst comm system, intended for under cover agents who are operating near a starship or starbase. Last is a data decryption and recording device. Mark 8 personal Communicator Unlike the standard issue commbadge the Mark 8 resembles an older folding communicator but unlike its 23rd century cousin this comm unit is capable of both visual and audio communication, but can transmit data up to half a light year.
