I would be lying to say that the fantastic and fun writing that goes on here did not have help in some form or another. I myself use various websites to aid my writing and I list them here below so that you may all use their wonderful service.
The Obsidian Fleet wiki Database is one of the most useful tools available to writers within the fleet. Whatever the need I would advise anyone to look here first.
The Daystrom Institute Technical Library is a truly amazing site. It is a mix of canonical and non-canonical explanations, analyses and break down of almost everything in the Trek universe. It is not to some people's tastes, but I myself am a big fan.
Memory Alpha is a 100% canonical encyclopaedia of the Trek Universe. If the above sites fail to deliver it is unlikely Memory Alpha will be able to answer your question either, but no harm in trying. In itself it is a very thourough and extremely good site.
For the canon and non-canon encyclopaedia, try Memory Beta.
Another superb site with all the history in Canon is the official Star Trek website, a must for all fans of all episodes.
For those with a fear of the correct phaser terminology.
The Journal of Applied Treknology
Blueprints, Books, Episodes and Features
And a fine site for all forms of canon and non canon information.
And yet another site with a diverse area of information, Trek Core.
WIkipedia is the most popular online encyclopaedia and I doubt anyone has not at least heard of it. It has been used for character images and a multitude of other things. It can be incredibly useful on occasion.
Baby Names : Includes background information on names and a random generator
Fiction Factor : Advice on character creation and development
Google Image Search : Great for character pictures
Uncle Orson's Writing Class : Detailed and catagorised writing advice
And for the gamers.

If there is any other site which anyone feels should be added to this page I invite them to e-mail the CO or XO with the link and a suitable banner/logo.
